Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy
Unfortunately, as of October 1st, we have had to seriously start enforcing our cancellation policy. Numerous last-minute cancellations and repeated no-shows have made it a necessity.

We can only successfully treat patients if they show up for their scheduled appointments. An appointment is a commitment to our office that the patient will arrive for treatment at a scheduled time, much like for a hair appointment, a business meeting or even a tee time. It is an agreement between the patient and Dr. Holliday that this time will be reserved for that patient alone. We do not double book. Therefore, when a patient fails to show for a scheduled appointment, hygienists are left sitting idly, which ultimately only increases the cost of cleanings, not to mention they are not able to offer that time to another patient who may have needed it.

As a service to our patients, we confirm several times to ensure they remember their appointment--- we shedule the next cleaning before they leave our office, we send a confirmation card two weeks ahead of time and we call each patient 48 hours ahead of their appointment to confirm. Therefore, we ask that a minimum of 48 hours notice be given for schedule changes. Patients who no-show or cancel without proper notice will be charged $25 per half hour of scheduled time, or the full price of the cleaning, whichever one applies.

We reserve the right to dismiss from our care any patient who has broken 3 appointments. We also reserve the right to dismiss any patient who habitually cancels later than 48 hours prior to appointments.

We realize that people are busy. We also realize that life happens--emergencies and unforeseen circumstances occasionally arise unpredictably. However, dental appointments are very important events that allow us to effectively and completely help our patients and keep their mouths healthy, ultimately improving their quality of life. Therefore, these visits are of utmost importance to the health of our patients and should be a priority in their lives and remain that way. Only the most serious of circumstances should warrant a cancellation.
